bomber’s dream
Bomber's Dream is an expository docu-film centered around the life and legacy of Clifton "The Mighty Bomber" Ryan, a monumental figure in Calypso. Shot across Trinidad and Toronto, this film seamlessly blends Bomber’s remarkable career with the creation of an album by the Kaiso Street Collective, led by his grandson, Jesse Ryan. Through rehearsals, studio sessions, interviews with family, cultural leaders, and archival footage, the film uncovers Calypso's global impact as music for social change, while highlighting the mission of Kaiso Street Society to preserve and celebrate its cultural significance.
At its core, Bomber's Dream reinforces an unspoken truth that Calypso history is inextricably linked to Black history—stories of resistance, resilience, and revolution, often left out of the global narrative, now reclaiming their rightful place in history.
